Delivery Terms, Conditions and Service

Special Orders & Returns

On purchasing a product that is not kept as a stock item, and therefore ordered in specifically for that customer, we take full payment prior to the goods being ordered. There are no refunds given on special order products once the order has been placed (this does not affect your statutory rights). It’s the customer’s responsibility to make sure the appliance is the correct product for their needs prior to committing to the order. Michael R. Peters does not have a ‘money back guarantee’ if you want to return your product for no fault of the item/ours. In a stock item situation it is at the discretion of Michael R. Peters whether or not a refund will be issued and in such a case the customer will incur a restocking fee to a percentage of the items value.

Warranty Registrations

All appliances purchased from Michael R. Peters come with the standard minimum 12 months warranty. Selected items do have longer warranties provided by the manufacturer, and in some cases that warranty needs to be registered to activate the additional cover. Should it need to be registered, it is the customer’s responsibility (not Michael R. Peters) to register this warranty with the manufacturer. Failure to do so will result in the appliance being covered by its standard warranty (in most cases 12 months). How to register the extra warranty can be found on the relevant manufacturer website.

Freestanding & Built In Kitchen Appliances

A freestanding and/or built in installation consists of the following:

Unpacking of the product and disposing of all packaging if required.

Connecting up the product suitable supplies – mains, water, waste etc.

Levelling the new appliance in its new position.

Testing the appliance to confirm a successful installation.

Demonstrating of the most common/main features of the new appliance.

In most cases new products are supplied with new ancillary connections such as water/waste/vent hoses but in the event they are not, new pipes/accessories can be supplied at a charge. Please note that cookers do not come with new mains cable or a gas connection pipe.

Old appliance disposals: We offer a collection service for the disposal of your old appliances. This is a chargeable service on a like for like basis (i.e. the product purchased is the same type/size as the product being removed). We can offer to dispose of appliances on a non like for like basis (i.e. delivering a washing machine but removing a cooker) however there may be an additional cost involved depending on the appliance being removed. This is a case by case basis and would need to be organised prior to the delivery day.

Please note: The ‘+’ symbol signifies there could be an additional charge for extra work that may be required at the time of installation. Kitchens along with their installations (cabinets, plumbing, electrics etc) vary which can lead to installation issues taking additional time. In extreme circumstances third party tradesmen (gas safe installers, electricians etc) may be required at an additional cost to the customer.

Audio/Visual & Custom Installations (TV, Hi-Fi, Digital Recorder etc).

Before we arrive

There are a few things that we ask you help us with so that your installation goes as smooth as possible:

Notifying us of any stairs or narrow passages/doorways.

Securing pets to avoid 'under foot' accidents.

Notifying us if to your knowledge the item is hardwired.

Provide access to taps & mains points (clearing under the sink).

Ensuring you're available for the time slot agreed.

Identifying the mains cut off and water stop cock.

Provide clear access to the property.

Ensuring a working aerial or satellite signal is provided.

Removing delicate items & furniture that may be in the way.

Health, Safety & Unforeseen Circumstances

We strive to provide a first class, second-to-none service but, should the delivery personnel feel that damage could be incurred to the product, your property or themselves, they may refuse to complete or undertake the delivery or installation. Likewise if there is an issue with any existing plumbing, kitchen cupboards, wall structures, mains supplies, cooker back boxes, aerials etc then a third party (builder, plumber, electrician) would be needed to put right the problem (at the customers expense) prior to our installation.
